Fiasp Insulin Flextouch is a rapid-acting insulin meant to manage glycemic control in adult and pediatric patients with diabetes. Fiasp Insulin Flextouch is an Insulin pen that contains insulin aspart with additional L-arginine and niacinamide. Both arginine and niacinamide help to speed up the absorption of insulin. Fiasp is suitable as a lunchtime insulin since it begins to function more quickly than other types of insulin. Insulin aspart is human-made insulin, and it achieves higher peak insulin concentrations in less time and with a shorter duration of action compared to regular human insulin. Insulin aspart is sold under the brand name NovoLog and Fiasp and is used to treat Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.

100 units of insulin aspart per mL (U-100) is available a clear and colorless solution in 3 mL single patient-use FIASP Insulin FlexTouch pen. Each pen has 3 mL of 100 units/mL Fiasp insulin solution for injection and is in a carton of 5 pens. Pen is also used with 3mL single-patient-use PenFill cartridges for use in a PenFill cartridge Device. Insulin also comes as Fiasp Insulin Vial is packaged as a 10 mL multiple-dose vial.

What is Fiasp Insulin used for?

This insulin pen has a mealtime insulin that diabetic patients on insulin therapy can use to reduce blood sugar increases after meals. As part of a comprehensive insulin therapy plan, this insulin is used in conjunction with long-acting insulin. Fiasp insulin must be taken 20 minutes or less before a meal, whichever comes first into the abdomen, upper arm, or thigh.

Why use Fiasp Insulin Flextouch?

This insulin is a fast-acting variety that gets to work significantly more quickly than regular insulin. In addition, pen-based insulin administration allows for more precise dosing and less painful injections, and the Fiasp Insulin Flextouch outperforms competing drug delivery devices like the KwikPen and the Solostar.

How does Fiasp Insulin work?

Fiasp Insulin is insulin aspart and contains vitamin B3 (niacinamide) in its formulation. Fiasp insulin helps to speed up insulin absorption in your body to help maintain insulin levels. It enters the bloodstream quickly in approximately 2½ minutes. This way, you can take Fiasp insulin at the start or 20 minutes after the beginning of a meal.

Fiasp Insulin Flextouch Dosage

Your doctor will individualize the dosage of FIASP based on the patient’s metabolic needs, blood glucose monitoring results, and glycemic control goal. When converting from another mealtime insulin to FIASP, the initial change can be done on a unit-to-unit basis.

Because your cells become more responsive to insulin while you are active, your blood glucose, also known as blood sugar, can be lowered more successfully. Take your medications regularly and follow up with your healthcare specialist.
