The Dario System is a smartphone-based monitoring system featuring a pocket-sized meter with an integrated lancing device and test strips.

The Dario Blood Glucose Monitoring System is used to measure glucose quantitatively in blood samples drawn from the fingertips. The system is intended for self-testing by people with diabetes at home to monitor the effective measures taken for diabetes control. Do not share the Dario Blood Glucose Monitoring System.

The Dario Blood Glucose Monitoring Starter Kit includes Dario’s ultra-compact pocket-sized smartphone glucometer that can be plugged directly into your smartphone, store daily measurements, and provide trends, insights, and alerts.

What are the precautions for the Dario System?

Do not use the Dario System for the following purposes:

  • For commercial purposes.
  • Test and monitor blood glucose for children younger than 4 weeks of age.
  • Test glucose from arterial or venous blood.
  • Test glucose at sites other than the fingertip.
  • Test people who are critically ill, in shock, or dehydrated, as it can cause false test results in glucose meters. You should call the doctor if you think you are dehydrated or frequently urinating.

Features of the Dario Blood Glucose Monitoring System

  • Moisture and water have an impact on the Dario System. If it does get wet, wipe it with a clean, dry cloth.
  • For best results, test when the temperature is between 50°F and 95°F (10°C and 35°C) and the relative humidity is between 15 and 85%.
  • The monitoring system is inaccurate when tested at altitudes higher than 10,000 feet (3,048 meters).
  • Do not store the meter or test strips in highly humid areas, such as the bathroom or kitchen.
  • A small blood sample (0.3 μl) is needed to test blood glucose.
  • The system will display it within six seconds.

Dario Sterile Lancets

Sterile lancets are simple and comfortable devices for blood glucose measurements. These are 30-gauge designed for less pain. It requires a tiny 0.3 μl drop of blood for an accurate reading. To replace the lancet,

  • Remove the orange lancing device cover.
  • Pull out the used lancet.
  • Replace it with a sterile one.

Dario Test Strips and Dario Lancets

Use only Dario Test Strip, Dario Lancets with the Dario System. Do not reuse the same test strip. Do not share the used test strip with anyone else. For each test, insert a new test strip into the test strip port of the glucose meter before each glucose measurement.

Important Information on Dario Test Strips and Dario Lancets
  • Keep the system and test strip within the appropriate temperature range.
  • Use test strips only within the system operating temperature range.
  • Do not expose the test strip to direct sunlight and heat.
  • Store them in their original cartridge, not outside the cartridge, or move them into another container.
  • Keep the vial cap tightly closed to prevent exposure to moisture.
  • Touch the test strip with clean and dry hands.
How to Use Dario Lancets System?

Download Dario’s APP and set it up on your mobile device. Then, to use the Dario System, complete the following procedures:

It consists of the following components:

  • Install the APP on your mobile device.
  • Connect the miniature glucose meter to the port of your smart mobile device.

The glucose meter does not require batteries as it receives power from the mobile device.

Insert a test strip cartridge:
  • Insert the cartridge into the housing until it snaps into place
  • Return the white housing cover by sliding it into place until it clicks
Insert a lancet:
  • Remove the orange lancet device cover.
  • Pull the used lancet straight out of its housing.
  • Remove a new lancet.
  • Do not use the lancet if the cap is missing or damaged.
  • Insert a sterile lancet fully and firmly set.
  • Carefully twist off the lancet cap.

Set the lancet depth between the numbers 1 and 4, 4 being the deepest.
